#BlameChance For Excited Fans

In just two days Chance the Rapper will be releasing yet another project, based upon Chance’s amazing record of producing music; fans are ecstatic about its release. However, can you blame them? All of Chance’s projects have been amazing, rated highly among listeners, oh yeah and how can I forget, FREE!

One might think, “Well, rappers release free mixtapes all the time, who gives a fuck?”

True that may be, but to understand the hype surrounding Coloring Book simply look at the accomplishments of Chance since 10 Day Theory’s release in 2012; Regardless to an IMMENSE amount of bootlegging of his work, Chance’s album Acid Rap made it to Billboard’s Top 100 at #63 in April of 2013. The album Surf was downloaded over 625,000 times on iTunes. Chance also has given GREAT performances on shows like SNL. Late night talk show host, Jimmy Fallon has recently been boasting about how great Coloring Book is. Chance could possibly be making history this year as well, going so far as in being the influence for a change in the rules for the Grammy nomination process. The current rules prohibit albums that are not for sale, with that rule being in place this means regardless to however good Chance’s album may be there is no way that he will get a Grammy to signify how good his music is.

This may change however? #BlameChance.

A fan, fed-up with “the academy” and their bullshit, created a petition in order to spread awareness about this rule that the Grammy’s have as well as spread Chance’s music to those who probably haven’t had an opportunity to listen to him.

So far the petition has reached roughly 27,0000 of their 35,000 signature goal. To keep things bright, according to Dan Rys, a writer from Billboard:

A rep from the Recording Academy told Billboard that "the awards process is reviewed and refined on an annual basis." After publication of this story, the Grammys issued a statement to Billboard clarifying that while free albums and streaming-only albums would not be eligible under the rules in place for last year's awards, there is an annual review process that takes place after each year's presentation that determines any changes that will be made.

Did I mention Chance has a whole mixtape with everybody’s favorite rapper to hate Lil B… AND ITS FIRE! No bullshit, listen below. Seriously though, Coloring Book has fans at the edge of their seat and because of Chance’s immense amount of fan service I can’t blame them. Are you excited? Stay tuned to MITHREADS for updates on the official release of Chance3! If you haven't listened to a Chance the Rapper album completely through, I highly suggest you change that.
