Kool Kidd Dre: "The Kool Tape" FULL REVIEW
05/26/16
Author: Kyle Williams
The whole point of MITHREADS is for us to share the hardwork of individuals who want to expand their audiences. When Deandre sent me a sample of his music I already knew how important developing sound to share with people is to him. Having the opportunity to chat with him solidified the portrayal I had for him and his music. The Kool Tape is one of those projects that I enjoyed from track 1 to the end. You can tell from the sheer professionalism in his demeanor, music, and production that with time and patience, Deandre will be a front runner in mainstream media.

Surprisingly, The Kool Tape is not the project that Deandre originally meant for me to review. He sent me the sequel to The Kool Tape titled, The Kool Tape 2 which has not been released to the general public as of yet; you can listen on May 31st, 2016 at PlanetKoolKidd.com as well as here on MITHREADS. Of course, when artists send me their music I try to listen to their earlier work as well. With that being said, I noticed that it is an honor to work with artists with work ethic as good as Deandre’s. I definitely got similar vibrations when Big Sean was dropping the Finally Famous mixtapes.
Now let discuss The Kool Tape.
The project was awesome, having the opportunity to listen to an already seasoned artist’s latest mixtape and noticing that his sound and production was immaculate. I would assume that it was improvement from his last project. Like all true artists, they want to release their art work that appeases the listener and isn’t sloppy or tough to listen to. Even his older projects are just as professional as his latest tape. You can really tell that Deandre appreciates the listener and thinks about if it can transcend to a large audience.
Deandre can sing and his abilities as an emcee is unquestionable.
I really hate when people compare artists, however in this situation I can’t lie I am kind of getting a Childish Gambino or Jaden Smith vibe. The reason why I say that is because both artists have a great ass flow and they use that to be able to exercise their singing voice with ease. Deandre is mastering this talent, and I guarantee that he will only get better as well, based on how passionate he is about his music.
I also always enjoy when artists can keep the listener even more entertained with songs that seem to run right into each other, as if it was a continuation to the next song. Also those who can make interesting interludes that can almost turn an album or mixtape into an audio story. You really understand how passionate Deandre is about his music and the tools he uses to make his music on his mixtape The Kool Tape.

Understanding Deandre’s craft is what enticed me into his music even more, hopefully you as a reader can understand similar to how I did. How do you feel about The Kool Tape by Kool Kidd Dre? Are you interested in hearing The Kool Tape 2? Let me know below…. Thanks for reading MITHREADS.
